The Costume Institute Gala, also known as the MET Gala is held annually at (where else?) the Metropolitan Museum of Art to celebrate the Costume Institute’s exhibit at the museum. This year, Hollywood and fashion industry royalty rolled out the East Coast ball red carpet for Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations which according to the MET press release, will “explore the striking affinities between Elsa Schiaparelli and Miuccia Prada, Italian designers from different eras.”
And these fabulous ladies know there’s only one way to pay homage to decadent fashion – by wearing it! Citrus hues of maize and tangelo ruled the night and gold clutches, not dashing men in dapper tuxedos, were the accessories of choice.
